We are very pleased to have Christina Tollett join us from the University of Saskatchewan. Christina is starting her doctorate with us working on genomic surveys of population structure and helping to develop the scat-based genomics toolkit. Welcome!
We are excited to have three undergraduate interns working with us this summer; Kristin Hayward (NSERC USRA), Tristan Frappier-Brinton (NSERC USRA) and Alathea Iacovelli (Summer Work Experience Program). Kristin, Tristan and Alathea will be helping us map genomic structure across the Canadian Arctic and to begin to develop the genomics tools we need for our scat-baed monitoring program.
MSc student Mélanie Dominique (Institut National de la Recherche Scientifique) presented her work (with supervisor Valérie Langlois and collaborator Allison Rutter) showing that scat can serve to detect contaminants at the Congrès Eau Terre Environnement in Québec.
